June is Pride Month, and for many, that means attending a parade or event to show their support. Whether you identify as LGBTQ+ or are an ally, there's no better way to express yourself than through the perfect Pride outfit.

Need some inspo? TomboyX has you covered! Read on to discover 15 ideas to help you dress to impress and show off your pride.

1. Rainbow Colors

Nothing says "pride" better than wearing rainbow colors. Rainbow-themed clothing is both stylish and meaningful. The rainbow has been a symbol of LGBTQ+ pride since 1978. Back in the 70s, Harvey Milk asked Gilbert Baker, an artist, drag queen, and openly gay man, to design a symbol to unite and uplift the queer community.

Prefer to slay in something totally vibrant? Go bolder with bright tops and bottoms in different hues. For an extra splash of color, you can also opt for our deliciously soft Progress Pride Rainbow Essentials Bra, popping under a button-down or shining by itself.

There are plenty of ways to add a pop of color that are majorly subtle. Try adding colorful accessories like earrings, sunglasses, bucket hats, or bags for a subtle way to incorporate a rainbow into your outfit.

2. Casual Chic

If you want an outfit that works well during the day but can also transition easily into the night, then casual chic is the way to go. A comfy tank top with denim shorts or cropped jeans will keep you cool during hot summer days while still looking stylish.

For cooler weather, try layering different pieces, like an oversized t-shirt over a collared shirt and skinny jeans. Finish off the look with some jewelry like hoop earrings and stylish sneakers for an effortless yet put-together look that screams "pride!"

3. Graphic Tees

Graphic tees are not only comfortable, but they also make powerful statements about who you are as a person and what you stand for. These cool tees come in all shapes and sizes, so there is something out there that fits everyone's style and taste.

Graphic tees featuring rainbow flags, slogans supporting LGBTQ+ rights, or even just fun designs can be perfect additions to any Pride outfit. Rock your top with our all-cotton French Terry Jogger Bottoms, and you're ready to celebrate in chic comfort.

4. Gender-Neutral Apparel

Pick clothing items that you feel comfortable in regardless of gender norms — think loose-fitting tees with tuxedo pants, cropped hoodies over relaxed-fit shorts, or sneakers with matching beanies.

There are endless possibilities when it comes to mixing up pieces from various clothing sections. Gender expression is fashion expression. So go forth and have fun!

Pro Tip: Need a pair of comfy cozy undies to help embrace your gender expression? Check out Tucking Underwear or Packing Underwear. Made with antibacterial, odor-resistant fabric, these undergarments offer all-day confidence.

5. Retro Vibes

Show off your fashion prowess with a classic retro look with some vintage clothes from your local thrift store.

Channel the 70s in flared jeans paired with tees featuring bold slogans or graphics. You can even top off this old-school style with some round sunglasses and our Rainbow Unicorn Trucker Hat for a truly iconic vibe.

6. Statement Pieces

If you want to make a bold statement, try adding some eye-catching statement pieces. Think feather boas, colorful skirts, or funky hats that really stand out. Have a good time with it, and choose something that embodies who you are and what you believe in.

7. Pins and Patches

Pins and patches make any piece of clothing unique while sending out an important message at the same time. Use pins and patches featuring symbols such as the transgender flag, Pride flags, or the iconic rainbow heart symbol representing the diversity within the LGBTQ+ community.

Place them on shirts, jackets, jeans, or any other piece of clothing that reflects your style — this will show everyone where you stand without saying a word.

8. Bright Patterns

Bright patterns make a statement and show off your pride 100% of the time. Look for clothes with colorful prints like florals, polka dots, or fabulous stripes to bring an extra pop of color to your outfit.

You can even mix and match different prints together for a look that's as unique as you are. Whether you're going for subtle or bold, bright patterns will never fail to express how proud you are.

9. Flash and Flare

Go all out with vibrant colors, memorable patterns, and lots of joy-inducing accessories. Think bright sequin tops, printed skirts and shorts, sparkly tights, flower crowns, and tinted shades.

Feeling daring? Rock a rainbow wig or tutu and some vibrant makeup.

10. DIY It

Get crafty and make your own Pride outfit. Use fabric paint or markers to paint a custom Pride t-shirt, or go all out and make a sequined rainbow vest. Maybe summon some hippie vibes to create an on-trend tie-dye rainbow tee.

Going to a Pride parade with a group of friends? Have each person go as a different color of the rainbow, so in pictures, you complete the color spectrum. You might remember the acronym ROY G BIV for the colors in the rainbow, but there are actually more than seven shades. So no matter how large or small your entourage is, you can absolutely make it work.

11. Mix and Match

Choose bold and bright colors that you love and mix and match them. Wear bold floral print shorts with a striped sleeveless top, or experiment with different textures like an iridescent top with turquoise velvet pants or a colorful fringe tank with a fluffy tulle skirt.

12. Cool Accessories

Accessories are the ultimate way to jazz up your look. From hats and sunglasses to jewelry and bags, the possibilities for statement accessories are endless. Wear a matching set of earrings or layer on some bright necklaces.

Or, add an eye-catching bag like a backpack or fanny pack with bold rainbow colors and designs — just don't forget to top it all off with a cool hat like our snazzy Reversible Rainbow Unicorn Bucket Hat. It’s reversible, so when you look back at your friends’ pics, it’ll look like you’re so committed to the look that you brought two hats — iconic. With statement accessories, you can make every ensemble shine even brighter.

13. Bold Socks

Rep your pride from your feet up with bold and colorful socks. Look for dynamic designs, like rainbow-striped socks or vibrant rainbow-patterned socks.

Our colorful Rainbow Spill Anklet Crew Socks are also a great choice. Featuring grippy ribbing at the ankle for no-slip comfort, this low-cut pair of socks feels like a dream and looks like a rainbow.

14. Vibrant Shoes

Your shoes are the finishing touch to any outfit. If you're feeling extra festive, try on a pair of sparkly heels or rainbow-colored sneakers for a look that is sure to turn heads.

Or, if you prefer something more comfortable, then slip into some comfy sandals and hit the dance floor. Whatever type of shoe you choose, show off your pride by making them as vibrant as possible.

15. Paint It On

No Outfit? No Problem!

Don't worry if you don't have any clothes specifically made for the occasion — any outfit can become a Pride ensemble with the help of some body paint.

Get creative by painting rainbows or flags on either side of your face or draw on some temporary tattoos featuring glittery shapes and symbols like hearts and stars onto exposed skin areas such as your arms and legs. With this approach, everyone can express themselves however they wish while still showing their support for their community.

Keep safety in mind: always opt for cosmetic-based paints. Always check that the paint is intended for skin and is non-toxic. There’s no room for toxicity at Pride parades, and that includes body paint.

As a general rule, water-based cosmetic paints are easier to remove, but alcohol-based cosmetic paints last longer. Do a skin patch test beforehand — practice makes perfect.

A Final Word

Showing your support during Pride Month should be awesome, entertaining, and inspiring all at once — so don't be afraid to express yourself through bold outfits! Put together colorful combinations of clothes and accessories that reflect who you are, and wear them proudly this June. After all, who doesn't love feeling confident in their own skin?

Let's celebrate our differences during this month — whether it's through fashion or otherwise — and come together in solidarity.

Happy Pride Month, everyone!
