TomboyX Supports True Colors

TomboyX Supports True Colors

. Kara Kieffer

TomboyX is stoked to be partnering with True Colors by donating 10% of online profits from our Rainbow Unisuit to this rad org. True Colors fights for a world in which every single LGBTQ young person can be celebrated for their individuality, regardless of where they live. By implementing innovative solutions for youth homelessness that specifically focus on the unique needs and experiences of LGBTQ youth, True Colors is making a difference in the lives of thousands of people each year.

Rainbow unisuit in all it's rainbow-y glory

In the US more than four million young people experience homelessness on an annual basis. Of that LGBTQ youth are 120% more likely to experience homelessness when compared to their straight peers. Founded in 2008 True Colors United seeks to improve the resources that homeless LGBTQ youth have access the resources they need. While many shelters and service providers are welcoming to all homeless youth, they are often without the training and specific resources to be of the greatest use to the LGBTQ community.

The mission of True Colors is to offer free training and resources to address the specific needs of LGBTQ homeless youth. They also advocate for governmental legislation and speak publicly in the media to spread awareness of the specific ways in which LGBTQ youth are impacted by homelessness and their unique needs. Finally, True Colors let the kids do the talking. But allowing those who either have been or currently are experiencing homelessness advocate and speak for themselves True Colors works in a joint way to solve this national crisis.

Feeling inspired? Shop the Rainbow Unisuit or head over to True Colors to find other ways to get involved.
