It's hard to believe but it's been over a month since we successfully reached our Kickstarter goal! With just hours to go 665 backers pooled their resources to the tune of $76,166 and made our dreams come true. It was an incredible journey that left us humbled with gratitude and appreciation. In 30 days we were able to achieve all of our goals and more. We chose the Kickstarter path as a way to organically promote TomboyX and create a buzz about what we are trying to do. We hoped to get people excited about our unique styles and approach to clothing. Women are not only excited about the clothing - they are wild about the brand! Supporters made it clear that they identify with our brand, they love our logo and we needed to expand our demographic to include younger women. Tomboys and women with the tomboy spirit see themselves in us.
As branding guru Susan Gunelius puts it "Brands are built by consumers, not companies. Ultimately, it’s the way consumers perceive a brand that defines it." She goes on to state that "When they feel like they can personally identify with the brand and develop emotional connections to the experiences the brand provides and feelings it elicits, you’ve hit the brand loyalty jackpot!" How cool is that?!
Our focus this past month has been on fulfillment of the $60 and under pledge categories and our first production runs are happening for our created styles. We're revamping our website and will unveil it in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, you can now purchase our tee's and hats at www.tomboyexchange.com so spread the word!
